Editing

My fingernails are gone, the chocolate is gone, and I haven't slept in weeks but I'm almost done editing Dead Running.
This has been the most intensive editing I've ever done. I don't know if that meant this book needed more editing than my others or that my new editor is just that impressive, but I'm thrilled with the results! Nancy Felt was my editor. I am so amazed by her insight, but she definitely was tough. I seriously cried when I read the overall suggestions, but then I remembered that what doesn't kill us makes us stronger and I got to work. Can't wait to hear what you all think of the results!

Have you ever wanted to give up, pushed through it, and become stronger because of the pain?

  1. Congratulations, I'm sure it will reward you. And I'm sure it was tough.

  2. Nancy is great, I'm glad you two ended up working together. I did an edit like the one you're finishing up recently. It was the hardest writing I've ever done, but also extremely fulfulling. Kudos for pushing through it!
