Fake it till you make it

"Fake it till you make it" can sometimes seem, well . . . fake. But for me it's helped me in many situations when my confidence disappeared. My formula: I say a silent prayer, force myself to smile, and literally talk myself into being confident. Sometimes the smile and confidence start feeling natural, sometimes they don't, but fake it till you make it has gotten me through many events where I would've gladly hidden in a corner.

Have you ever had to talk yourself into being confident? How did you do it?

  1. I actually talked about the same sort of thing on my blog today. Honestly, I am feeling very down about my writing right now and no amount of trying to fake it is helping. Good luck! (And feel free to let me know when you find the secret!)

    1. It is a tough world we've put ourselves in, isn't it? I hope things go wonderful for you. I just keep plugging away at the writing, but when I'm really not enjoying it I switch projects, something fresh sometimes helps.
      Good luck!
