Zig Ziglar

"The chief cause of failure and unhappiness is trading what you want most for what you want now." Zig Ziglar

I always apply this quote to my ice cream addiction. I want to be healthy and not overeat but I want my ice cream right now! But this quote has so many more applications than ice cream consumption. How many times do I make little choices based on my laziness or desire for something easy, and neglect or mess up the more important things that will affect my or my family's future.

I love quotes like this that motivate me to think before I act. Not saying that I won't have another bowl of ice cream tomorrow, but at least I'll stop and think about it first.

Do you have a quote that motivates you to work hard and make good choices?

  1. Thanks for making me feel guilty about shutting my alarm clock off this morning instead of getting up to write. After reading this it's going to be much harder to do that tomorrow.

  2. Never feel guilty, especially if you can sleep! It's a hard balance, not going faster than we have strength but working hard and not giving up. You're accomplishing plenty!
