Book Giveaway - The Rock of Ivanore

The annual Great Quest is about to be announced in Quendel, a task that will determine the future of Marcus and the other boys from the village who are coming of age. The wizard Zyll commands them to find the Rock of Ivanore, but he doesn’t tell them what the Rock is exactly or where it can be found. Marcus must reach deep within himself to develop new powers of magic and find the strength to survive the wild lands and fierce enemies he encounters as he searches for the illusive Rock. If he succeeds, he will live a life of honor; if he fails, he will live a life of menial labor in shame. With more twists and turns than a labyrinth, and a story in which nothing is at it seems, this tale of deception and discovery keeps readers in suspense until the end.

I love learning a bit about the author so Laurisa agreed to answer some questions.

Cami: What is the most insane thing you've ever done?
Laurisa: I don't usually do insane things. I'm pretty stable. lol! But a couple years ago my husband took my younger kids on a trip to Tennessee to visit family. It was the first time in almost two decades I had a whole week without my hubby. I was so excited I packed my baby and teenagers in the car and drove eight hours to Mesa, Arizona to visit a friend I hadn't seen in nearly 30 years. My husband thought it was crazy, but I loved doing something so spontaneous.

Cami: What makes you laugh?

Laurisa: My kids. My son, Marc, is a natural comedian and sometimes he just cracks me up. He reminds me of Jim Carrey.

Cami: Tell us about the best day of your life.

Laurisa: Other than when my kids were born? Probably the day I signed the publishing contract for The Rock of Ivanore. That was a dream come true.
