Book Giveaways and J.K. Rowling news

Today is the last day to win Dead Running in the Reading Clean Giveaway hop. Click here to enter. Don't forget to enter to win The Rock of Ivanore here.
Jennifer Wilson won Witch Born by Amber Argyle. Congrats Jennifer and thanks to Amber for donating the book!

Have any of you heard that J.K. Rowling is working on something new? I saw it on her Twitter the other day, she said something like, very different from Harry but has been just as much fun to write. I am so excited about this news! I know she's a multi-billionaire but it just killed me that she would quit writing. Here's my question to all of you. If you were completely and totally successful (Harry Potter or Twilight kind of successful), would you give up writing (or whatever talent you're pursuing) or maybe just write for yourself? I like to think I would keep writing just for the joy of writing, but who knows!

Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday!

  1. I just hope whatever she writes is as lasting as Harry. I cannot imagine having a world without the Harry Potter books! Wouldn't it be awesome if she gave us something else to cherish like that?

    1. I know! I have four boys so it's been fun to read the series with each one. Love Harry.

  2. I'm with you, Cami! Talent permitting lol, I'd write solely for the sheer creative pleasure of the craft itself <3

Now, you've got me *vairy* curious as to what Ms. Rowling is up to lol

  3. I think if you love writing, and others love reading what you write, you should keep putting it out there no matter how successful you get. But if I was successful enough to make enough money to cover all of my needs and the needs of my family, at that point I would start donating a lot of my earnings to charity, or maybe even starting my own charity. Wouldn't it be awesome to be able to do that?

  4. I haven't read her series, but I would continue to write no matter how successful I got. I don't know how you'd be able to not put all the stories that would keep popping into your head down on paper.

    1. Seriously, my head would be very crowded! That could be scary as I'm already a mess remembering anything.
