Avoidance

Whenever I'm hosting a large party I find myself frantically cleaning out the deep freezer, scrubbing the master shower, or organizing the storage room - the parts of my house that no guest should be looking at. In my head if I don't deal with the most immediate issues on my to-do list, they will go away or I'll suddenly be granted more time to do them. Crazy, I know.
We're leaving on vacation Thursday afternoon and I promised myself I would have my newest manuscript polished and sent to the editor so I could relax on the beach with my boys (yeah). But instead of working on the manuscript I'm googling myself online, writing blog posts, and catching up on emails. Would somebody please tell me to get to work?

  5. Okay, okay! I actually plunged in and it's been much better than expected. The characters crack me up, so that always helps. Now if I could just talk myself into cleaning my house too. Vicki?
