Poison Me Reviews

It's always so fun when the reviews start coming in on a new book. I had to share a few!

"Poison Me grabbed my attention from the beginning of the book!  The 'old' people in the book were hilarious and I couldn't get enough of their antics!  I felt like I was in the room watching every situation unfold!  When I thought I had the mystery solved, I realized that it wasn't going to be that easy and that  Cami Checketts had a few surprises in store!  I loved that the 'drama' and 'secrets' were completely realistic and not at all far-fetched.  Trying to figure out 'whodunnit' was much harder than the reader is led to believe.  Posion Me has everything I love in a book; romance, mystery and laughter too!  Once I started reading, I didn't want to stop and you won't either!  I keep thinking, why haven't I read any of her books before?  Five stars and she has gained a new fan!  Can't wait to read more!"

This book has it all--romance, mystery, and fast-paced action.  Cami Checketts has quickly become one of my favorite authors.  Why> Because when I pick up one of her books, I am assured of a good, clean story that deals with current issues.  And this book is no exception.  This book dealt with the issue of elderly people, and I believe that what happens will be shocking to most readers (it was to me).

The author is a master storyteller, and you can rest assured that the content of the book will be ultimately uplifting and engaging.  Not everything in the book has a happily ever after theme, and there is enough reality that I believe most readers will be hooked--I certainly was!  Whether you are 80 or 20 (most teens probably will not connect with this story, but it is certainly appropriate for them to read), this book can be equally enjoyed by all.

I’ve loved every book I’ve read so far of Cami’s, and so I wasn’t surprised when I loved this one also. Not only is this murder mystery, it also has secrets, forgiveness, betrayal and humor. I really liked that the book had “older” characters. But the big plus is that they really aren’t your every day run of the mill type of retirees. They’re not only investigating the murder of Ruby’s friend, they also play matchmakers, and the stuff that comes out of their mouths…
